In the working area of the Medan City Puskesmas, a study was conducted to analyze the effect of family education on family knowledge and compliance with hypertension sufferers in carrying out treatment.

To analyze data, the Wilcoxon test is used to evaluate the variable treatment of hypertension and patient compliance.

The Results of the Study

The results of the analysis showed a significant difference between the average value before and after the intervention of family knowledge, with a P value of 0,000 (p <0.005). In addition, patient compliance also shows significant changes with the same P value. From this result, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence on family education on the knowledge and compliance of people with hypertension in undergoing treatment.

From research conducted at the Glugur Health Center in Medan City, it is proven that family education has a significant influence on family knowledge and compliance with hypertension sufferers in undergoing treatment. Therefore, it is important for Puskesmas and other health institutions to continue to conduct educational programs for families with hypertension sufferers, to support them in managing health conditions better. This effort is not only useful for improving individual health, but can also create a healthier environment in the family.
