The data obtained were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and continued with the Post Hoc Dunn test for further comparison.

The results of the study showed that the histopathological picture showed the expression of CD4 and CD8 in normal groups (40.42 ± 16.25 and 23.50 ± 3.85), IMB groups (29.88 ± 5.99 and 24.44 ± 7.36), and KC400 groups (36.15 ± 3.53 and 19.77 ± 3.02) were higher compared to the aquades control group (KS) which showed the value (18.13 ± 9.17 and 14.73 ± 3.29). Statistically, there were significant differences in the CD4 expression between the KC400 and KS groups with a value of P <0.05. Although the CD8 expression in the KC400 group was higher than KS, the statistical ratio showed that only the IMB group was significantly different compared to KS (P <0.05).

Conclusion

This study indicates that the ethanol extract of ginger rhizomes with a dose of 400 mg/kgBB can increase the expression of CD4 and CD8 T cells in rats induced by cyclophosphamide and S. Typhimurium. This shows the potential for ginger as an immunostimulant that can support the immune system in dealing with infection. The use of medicinal plants such as ginger in the context of modern health is relevant and feasible to be further developed.
